Acceptable Use Policy

A receipt generator is a tool, and like any tool it has a right way and a wrong way to be used. The test is simple: if the receipt records something true, or is clearly understood by everyone involved to be a prop or a mockup, you're fine. The moment it's meant to make someone believe something false, you've left this policy — and probably the law — behind.

• Recreating the record of a purchase you actually made and lost
• Issuing receipts to customers for goods or services you really provide
• Bookkeeping, expense files, and personal money records
• Film, stage, and photo props; design mockups; app prototypes
• Classroom and training materials for retail, accounting, or POS work
• Placeholder and test data for software development

Never use ReceiptPronto to:

• Manufacture proof of purchase for a refund, return, or chargeback you aren't owed
• Pad expense reports, tax filings, or insurance claims with invented receipts
• Pass off a generated receipt as authentication when reselling goods
• Present any generated receipt as evidence of a transaction that didn't happen
• Break any law, anywhere, in any way

Deceptive use breaches our Terms of Service and, in most places, the criminal law. We revoke access where we detect abuse and cooperate with authorities when legally required. Responsibility for every receipt — its content and its use — sits with the person who made it.
